I am getting a guitar from my parents. I am a 16 year old girl. I’ve learned to play the recorder, flute, and a little guitar so I understand basic music theory. I want to learn how to play guitar well and fairly quickly. Are guitar lessons a good idea to learn effective techniques or is self teaching a good idea? Is professional guitar lessons worth the money? What are some decent acoustic guitars under 200 dollars? Anything else I should know about acoustic guitars?

I definitely recommend lessons to insure that you are learning the proper way to play. Many beginners who try to teach themselves end up quitting due to frustration and lack of direction. A good teacher can keep you motivated and help you learn the correct techniques.

So here is my second beginners lesson: This time I went with Coldplay’s Don’t Panic. Most of Coldplay’s songs are tough for beginners, but this one is manageable when you break it down.

Part 1 of my fingerstyle pattern guitar lessons with tablature. This lesson is suitable for every beginner and starts from scratch. It is based on a few easy chords in C and starts with an easy arpeggio (which also can be used as an accompaniment) and ends in a complete melody solo guitar instrumental. It’s split up in 5 exercises including some sugested variations.
Part 1 features: Exercise 1,2 and 3. Part 2 is below as an video response.
Grade : Beginner
