What is a good acoustic guitar for beginners?

I am looking to start learning how to play the guitar, so I want some recommendations on guitars that are good for beginners. I want something that costs less than $250. Also, my hands are relatively weak so something that won’t be extremely hard to play.

For an absolute beginner, I would recommend the Jasmine by Takamine S34C model. You can find them at musiciansfriend.com and other sites for $120- 140. Nice guitar for the price.

I got a Stagg (one of the best value beginner acoustic guitars, they’re all handmade), just about a month back, for my son, its what I started on as well.
I would say its ideal for a beginner.
The model I got was a SW203BK, I got something simular for him, but they didn’t have a SW203BK in stock.
You should just make sure the action is alright, if your hands are weak.
After a few months, I would recommend moving on to an electric.
I’m going to get my kid one for Christmas, as he’s progressing quite well.
I got my Stagg in The Sound Shop in Louth in Ireland for €140, my son’s was €170, but I don’t think it was as good quality.
That said, it was a package containing strings, a bag, a stand and three CD ROMS containing lessons.
Its a laminate top, so generally the next level up would be a wood top, which you could be looking at around €240 for.
Thats why I’m bringing him straight up to an electric.
Expect very sore fingers for your first while, but its all part of it.
Make sure you know what kind of music you aspire to play.
If you want heavy rock and metal, you’ll definitely be looking at an electric with humbuckers.

Look at some yamahs they are some of the best quality guitars not only for beginners but you will also see that some of the big artist all have some sort of yamaha guitar. My first acoustic guitar was a yamaha and it is great i still use it for shows and people love it, guess what it only cost $150 so i’d look at some yamahas
