http://www.TortoiseGuitar.com – How to use pentatonic scale patterns over chords. This example uses patterns 1, 3 and 4 to play over a blues in A minor on the 5th fret.

This allows you to play Am pentatonic, Dm pentatonic and Em pentatonic patterns all on the 5th fret.

    You will find that it might be hard to make a real nice lick at first, you need to get used to the shape a lot more and it will be natural. A lot of it comes from bends, hammer ons/pull offs and slides.
