Jamarama by Ben Edwards
Rating: Learn Guitar

Until Learn and Master For Guitar was published, Jamarama and Jamarama for Acoustic Guitar were my number 1 choices for the best guitar course available. There is no doubt that they are still really solid courses for anyone wanting to learn to play the guitar.

Jamarama was produced with electric guitar beginners in mind and so they designed the program to make the learning process both fun and enjoyable.  With a course aimed primarily at beginners and part time guitar players, the course gets going very quickly without dwelling on boring exercises and music theory.

One of the advantages of Jamarama is that it is available for immediate download online.  There is a physical version of the course available but the cost is substantial and the content is identical to the downloadable version.  I recommend that you use the online version and save yourself a bunch of money.

The latest version of Jamarama has made some major improvements with regard to the downloading and viewing of lessons.  The course comes with a special download manager that allows you to simultaneously download all the multimedia elements of a lesson at the same time. It also lets you play both audio and video files from within each individual lesson so that you don’t have to search endlessly to find them..  In the old version you had to download all the video and audio files separately and then piece them together.  This new improvement has made the course much more manageable.

Jamorama was designed for beginners in mind, and places a lot of importance on making the guitar learning process fun and enjoyable. As the course is aimed at beginners and casual guitarists, Jamorama starts right at the beginning. The course comes with plenty of bonus software and games to help you gain a solid understanding of musical concepts.

The course is taught by New Zealander Ben Edwards, a professional musician and guitar instructor. He has previously played in the New Zealand Indie rock band DegreesK, and holds a bachelor’s degree in education.

In addition, when you sign up for Jamarama you also get a lifetime membership to the exclusive Members Area.  If any improvements or updates are made to the course you will get them at no charge so that once you buy Jamarama there is no need to buy any new updates.

You also have the ability to add additional courses such as Jamarama Lead Guitar or Jamarama Acoustic Guitar as well.
